This AMEURUS conference took place at The Hay-Adams hotel in Washington D.C. The discussion focused on the implications of the post-Saddam era for the security and stability of Iraq and the wider region, prospects for the emergence of a democratic Middle East and progress in the Israeli-Arab peace process, as well as the role that the UN, NATO and other actors such as Russia could play.
The meeting was attended by senior figures from the US, Russia, France, Germany, the UK and other European countries.
